Youth Lacrosse Umpire Clinic '09Posted Tuesday, February 24, 2009 by Audrey Montanaro East Lyme will be hosting a youth umpire clinic on Thursday February 26th from 6-9pm at East Lyme Middle School Cafeteria. This clinic is open to all players and adults who wished to be certified to umpire youth lacrosse games this season. We would also encourage all coaches to attend to refresh their knowledge of the game or to better understand the rules. The cost will be $5 per participant. Checks can be made out to "ELLA", if a town wants to write one check for all of their participants. The CWLOA is trying to provide an on-line registration for the umpire clinic. You should check on the CT US Lacrosse website to see if this option is available ( All participants should go to the CT US Lacrosse website and download the required paperwork to bring to the class. This include the youth officials test and answer sheet. All youth officials will need to be US Lacrosse members. They will have to register before they can be field rated. More information about field rating dates and locations will be available at the clinic of the 26th. www.ctlacrosse.org) and go to Officials tab in the upper right.On the website, go to the upper right-hand "Officials" tab and click on "Women/Certification Clinic". They will then be directed to the registration page. They will select the East Lyme clinic on Thursday February 26th and follow the prompts. They should then be sent a confirmation email that will direct them to download and print the materials they will need for the clinic, including youth rules, test, and answer sheet. They can work on/complete the test before they come to the clinic, if they want. Further information about certification and field-rating dates and times will be available at the clinic.
